A motorist sustained serious injuries after being ejected from his Jeep in a two-vehicle collision in Port Jefferson Station on Wednesday night, Suffolk County police said.

Brian Carter, 25, of Rocky Point was going west on Route 347 when he tried to make a left onto Crystal Brook Hollow Road about 8:20 p.m. and was struck by an eastbound Chevrolet Suburban, police said.

Carter suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.
