A three-car crash in Lindenhurst Monday injured a Copiague woman after her car was hit by a man who was later arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, Suffolk police said.

Shortly before 5:15 p.m., Dina Gaballa, 31, was traveling east in her 2003 Infiniti when Thomas Clarry, 44, of 710 S. Fourth St., Lindenhurst, crashed into her, police said. He was attempting to make a left onto South Broadway in his 2004 Jeep SUV from the westbound lane on Montauk Highway, police said. A 2000 Buick, also traveling east and driven by Jessica Napolitano, 39, clipped Gaballa's car after the initial crash.

Police said Gaballa, her father Mohammed Gaballa, 68, her 4-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son, and a 9-year-old nephew -- all of Copiague -- were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, with nonlife-threatening injuries. Dina Gaballa, suffered a possible broken ankle, and the 9-year-old suffered facial injuries, police said.

Clarry and Napolitano, also of Lindenhurst, were uninjured.

Clarry was charged with driving while intoxicated and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Tuesday.
