Brown was scheduled to appear before a magistrate's court Friday, the AP reported. Police in Jamaica say extradition proceedings are expected to follow.

Suffolk County police found Elizabeth Hernandez, 33, fatally stabbed inside her basement apartment on July 24.

The mother of two had an order of protection against Brown at the time of her death, police said.

Brown fled to Jamaica before he was indicted in New York for Hernandez's slaying, the AP reported.
