Family remains found in forgotten cemetery

Ground-penetrating radar was used Monday morning to locate the remains of a half-dozen people buried in the Allen cemetery, a tiny forgotten family cemetery in a backyard in Great Neck Plaza. The cemetery has been the focus of the village and the Town of North Hempstead after the town historian said the cemetery was not being maintained properly by the village.
