A Farmingville man was seriously injured when his car collided with a sport utility vehicle Monday night on Portion Road in Ronkonkoma, Suffolk County police said.

Police said Joseph Hallick, 18, had to be extricated from his car, a 1996 Toyota Corolla, and was transported by Ronkonkoma Fire Department Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of head lacerations and a broken femur. His condition was not immediately known.

The crash occurred at 10:20 p.m.

Police said a 2009 GMC Acadia driven by David Leonardi, 37, of Lake Ronkonkoma, was headed eastbound on Portion Road when it collided with the westbound Toyota driven by Hallick. Leonardi was not injured in the crash.

No charges have been filed in the accident. The investigation is continuing.
