An early-morning fire damaged a house in Copiague Wednesday but everyone was able to escape the home unharmed, police said.

The fire at the house on Maple Court was reported at 5:27 a.m., Suffolk County police said. The caller reported that a relative had gone to the front door of the house and was banging on it in an attempt to get everyone inside the home out.

Copiague, Amityville and Lindenhurst firefighters responded to the scene and the fire was out and the units cleared from the site by 6:54 a.m.

No one was injured. It was unclear how many occupants were in the house at the time the fire broke out.

Photographs from the scene show the outside of the home on fire and a bicycle burning in the blaze. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
