Generator stolen from Brookhaven Town facility
Brookhaven officials said Sunday that someone broke into a town facility in Patchogue Saturday night and stole a generator.
The break-in is believed to have occurred about 10 p.m. through the front gate of a building on North Ocean Avenue.
"That's our vehicle control facility," said town spokesman Jack Krieger. "Someone cut the locks and stole a generator off a truck."
Krieger said the generator was small, the kind that is normally used to generate power for a home.
Town officials have reported the burglary to Suffolk police. The public safety department is investigating.
