Babylon Republicans have a candidate to face Supervisor Richard Schaffer in November: Mark Gallo, 44, of Lindenhurst, a $92,922-a-year assistant Suffolk elections commissioner who owns a security business. Gallo, a Navy veteran, challenged Legis. Wayne Horsley (D-Babylon) in 2009 and lost by a 2-1 ratio. Anthony Pancella, town GOP chairman, concedes "he's going to have a long hard race" against Schaffer "but the people need to have an opponent and he is a great guy with a lot to offer." Also, town Republicans are running Rashad Cureton, 21, of Amityville, a recent Stony Brook University graduate, against Assemb. Robert Sweeney (D-Lindenhurst).
