Suffolk County Police detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash in Hauppauge Saturday that left three people injured.

Police said that according to witnesses about 4:30 p.m. a woman driving a Toyota Prius failed to stop at a steady red light and struck a Honda Pilot at the intersection of Nesconset Highway and Veterans Memorial Highway.

The Prius driver, her female passenger, and the female Honda driver were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital.

Police, who said the identities of those involved in the accident were not immediately available, said the passenger in the Prius had serious, non-life-threatening injuries and the injuries to the two drivers are minor.

The driver of the Prius was cited for driving without a license and running a red light.
