Motorcyclist Hiram DeJesus Figueroa killed in Baywood crash

Police are investigating an accident that killed a motorcyclist Friday afternoon in Baywood.

Hiram DeJesus Figueroa, 41, of Brentwood, died from injuries he sustained in the crash shortly before 1 p.m. on Pine Aire Drive and Cleveland Avenue, Suffolk County police said.

DeJesus Figueroa was riding a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle on Pine Aire when it collided with a westbound 2001 Dodge Caravan making a left turn onto Cleveland, police said.

DeJesus Figueroa was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he died of his injuries, police said.

The Caravan driver, Tammy Quintero, 36, of Central Islip, was not injured, police said.

The motorcycle and Caravan were impounded for safety checks, police said. Detectives urge any witnesses to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
