A Holbrook man faces a robbery charge in a bank heist last week in upstate Eldred, State Police said Monday.
Kevin Lemma, 22, was arrested in Pikes County, Pa., after a multi-jurisdictional manhunt that saw investigators pursue leads in upstate Sullivan County, Pennsylvania and Long Island, police said.
Police said those investigations included assistance from Nassau County police, Pennsylvania State Police, the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department and the Town of Highland Constables.
Police said that Lemma, armed with a handgun, entered the Jeff Bank in Eldred on Sept. 24 and demanded cash.
Witnesses provided police with his description -- and a description of the getaway car.
Police said Lemma was charged with second-degree robbery and said he is being held as a fugitive from justice at the Pike County Jail pending extradition to New York.
