Annette Larusso killed in Holtsville house fire, Suffolk police say

A 65-year-old Holtsville woman died in a two-story house fire Sunday afternoon, officials said.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad and Arson section detective are investigating the fire that killed Annette Larusso at her house on Mary Lu Drive.

Holtsville Fire Department officials said they responded at 12:21 p.m. after a call came in reporting smoke and fire at the house.

Firefighters entered the home and pulled out Larusso, who was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The Holtsville and Farmingville Fire Departments worked for nearly 2 1⁄2 hours to contain the blaze, authorities said.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
