A man in his 70s, who likely had a medical emergency, died after he crashed his vehicle into a Huntington Station home Saturday morning, police said.

James A. Burke, 76, of in Huntington, was driving a 2003 Ford Ranger pickup truck east on East Third Street at about 11:50 a.m. when he veered off the road, went through a fence and struck a house on the street, Suffolk County police said.

The Huntington Community First Aid Squad took Burke to Huntington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. No one else was in Burke’s truck and no other injuries were reported, police said.

Burke probably had a medical episode that caused him to lose control of the pickup, police said.

Burke’s truck was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives ask anyone with information on the crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
