The town of Islip has approved a resolution to bring a Queens-based perfume and cosmetics distributor to the town.

At a recent board meeting, the town board voted unanimously in favor of granting B & S Fragrances & Cosmetics of Woodside assistance to acquire a 2.81 acre of land at 25 Ranick Road in Hauppauge.

The company will invest $6.7 million in renovating a 52,200 square-foot factory at the site, and will retain 17 jobs and create 12 more, according to Industrial Development Agency Director William Mannix.

The town will provide exemptions from mortgage recording taxes, exemptions from sales and use taxes, and abatement of real property taxes.
