A routine traffic stop by a Suffolk County police officer on Saturday afternoon netted a man with 41 license suspensions and drugs stashed inside his body, police said.

Officer Matthew DeWitt was patrolling Sunrise Highway in Yaphank around 2 p.m. when he pulled over a Chrysler minivan that was being driven erratically.

Police said the driver gave a fake name, but DeWitt investigated further and determined the man was Jason Brown, 36, of Mastic Beach, whose New York State license had been suspended 41 times over 11 dates.

DeWitt also saw marijuana in plain sight inside the van, police said.

At Suffolk's Fifth Precinct in Patchogue, while Brown was being processed, DeWitt discovered the man also had hidden heroin and cocaine "within his body," police said.

Brown was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of marijuana and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was also issued a traffic ticket.

His van was impounded, police said.
