A Levittown man has been charged in a stabbing in Copiague on Friday night, Suffolk police said.

Jose Fuentes, 20, was charged with assault and is scheduled for arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.

The stabbing stemmed from an argument between two men at about 6:30 p.m. near 35th Street and Franklin Avenue, just south of West Sunrise Highway, police said.

The male victim, whose name and age were not released by police, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip in serious but stable condition.
