A Northport man was seriously injured in Greenlawn when his motorcycle and a vehicle collided Friday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.

Joseph Algerio, 65, was taken by air ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital to be treated for leg injuries, which were not considered life-threatening, police said.

Second Precinct detectives said the driver of a Nissan, Merwyn Kaplan, 75, of Greenlawn, was heading west on Pulaski Road about 4:10 p.m. when he made a left onto Duncan Elder Drive and struck Algerio’s motorcycle.

Kaplan stayed at the scene and was not injured, police said.

Detectives ask anyone with information to call them at 631-854-8252.
