Bicyclist in critical condition after being struck in Medford

A Calverton resident was listed in critical condition after he was struck by a car while riding a bicycle in Medford on Monday, Suffolk police said.

Julien Robinette, 29, was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue after the 7:45 a.m. crash at Horseblock Road and Express Drive South, where police said he was struck by a southbound 2008 Pontiac G6 that was driven by Michelle Ritter, 23, of Centereach.

The collision occurred while Ritter, who was not hurt, tried to make a left turn onto Express Drive South as Robinette was traveling north on Horseblock Road, police said.

Police ask anyone with information about the crash to call Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854-8652.
