A Lake Grove man seriously injured a week ago when he crashed his Nissan into a utility pole has died, police said Tuesday.

Gregory Watson, 21, was driving south on Hawkins Avenue in Lake Grove when he lost control and struck a pole near Terry Avenue just after 1:35 p.m. on March 17, Suffolk County police said.

The driver was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said, and the vehicle was impounded for a safety check.

Police said Tuesday in a news release that the investigation is continuing.
