Police: Brooklyn motorcyclist hurt in Huntington crash

A Brooklyn man was seriously injured Thursday when his motorcycle collided with a car in Huntington, Suffolk County police said.

Lee Owens, 33, dislocated a shoulder and had severe lacerations to his left leg after the accident on New York and Prime avenues at about 9 p.m.

Police said Owens was taken to a nearby hospital, where he also is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Quincy Nelson, 17, of Huntington Station, was driving a 2005 Chrysler 300 south on New York Avenue when he made a left turn onto Prime Avenue and his car collided with Owens' 1974 Honda motorcycle, police said.

Neither Nelson nor his two passengers, both men, was injured.

Both the car and motorcycle were impounded for safety checks. Police said the investigation is continuing and that no tickets were issued.
