Deer Park's Brad Ferro, who punched a female "Jersey Shore" cast member in the face, is about to take it on the chin from his employer.
The New York City Department of Education is "taking termination action against Mr. Ferro," spokeswoman Ann Forte said yesterday.
Ferro, 23, had been reassigned from his gym teacher job at North Queens Community High School in Flushing after the punch.
Forte said that Ferro has 30 days from when he receives his termination letter to plan his departure.
The department was still drafting that letter Tuesday afternoon and could not provide a timetable on when it would be completed or delivered, Forte said.
In November, Ferro pleaded guilty to slugging Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi after she argued with him about a drink he swiped from her at a bar in Seaside Heights, N.J.
The punch was thrown during filming for a summer episode of "Jersey Shore," but MTV later cut the scene from the reality TV show.
Ferro's attorney, Andrew Siben of Bay Shore, did not return a phone call for comment.
