The road was briefly closed so an ambulance and emergency personnel could work the scene. Some lanes were reopened at 12:10 p.m.

It was unclear how many were injured in the crash.

The severity of any potential injuries also was unknown.

Some traffic was diverted off the road at Deer Park Avenue.

The cause of the crash is unknown - but there have been at least five crashes involving overturned vehicles in the past two days in Nassau and Suffolk, most weather-related.
