A Long Island Rail Road train was delayed for two hours in West Babylon after a person was struck and killed on the tracks Saturday evening.

The victim, who authorities did not identify, was hit at 5:40 p.m. near Muncy Avenue.

About 100 passengers were stuck on the train until it started moving again about 7:35 p.m., an MTA spokeswoman said.

The train had heat and electricity while it was stopped, she said. It had left Montauk at 3:30 p.m. and had been scheduled to arrive in Jamaica at 6:10 p.m.

An MTA spokeswoman said Saturday night that she did not have further information about the victim or the circumstances of the accident.

Other trains were rerouted around the scene and were not delayed, she said.
