A homeless man who police said robbed an Italian ice store in West Sayville at knifepoint Tuesday night ended up on ice, arrested a short time after by Fifth Precinct officers.
Justin Skura, 22, was arrested by Suffolk County police Fifth Precinct Crime Section officers who stopped a suspicious vehicle not long after police said he robbed Papa Mia's Italian Ice House on Montauk Highway.
Police said the robbery occurred just after 9 p.m.
They said that's when Skura, wearing a mask and carrying a knife, knocked on the rear door of the store, threatened two female employees with the knife -- and forced his way inside.
Police said Skura stole cash, then fled.
A short time later, Crime Section Officers Donald Britton and Tracy Barry stopped what police described as "a suspicious vehicle" and determined the Skura had committed the robbery, police said.
Police said the mask and cash were recovered.
Skura was charged with first-degree robbery and will be arraigned Wednesday in First District Court in Central Islip.
No one was injured.
