Man shot in leg during Shirley home invasion, police say

One man was shot, suffering what police called "non-life-threatening injuries," during a home-invasion style robbery Sunday night in Shirley.

Suffolk County police said the incident occurred at a home on Lexington Road at 9:17 p.m. Three suspects, all armed, entered the house -- one, shooting the 24-year-old victim, identified only as a man, in the leg. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment, police said.

Police would not say if the house was targeted and would only say the suspects fled with "unknown proceeds."

There were no arrests. The investigation is continuing.
