Manhattan man faces DWI in Flanders stop

A 41-year-old Manhattan man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he was stopped for failing to yield to other vehicles in the Flanders traffic circle early Tuesday, police said.

Jean Marc P. Choffel was charged with DWI and given a summons for failing to yield the right of way after his arrest at 1:25 a.m. on Flanders Road, Southampton Town police said. Choffel was held for arraignment Tuesday in Southampton Town Justice Court.

Police said the arrest followed a traffic stop and said an investigation determined Choffel was drunk.
