A Manorville man was critically injured Thursday morning in a single-car crash in Farmingville after he lost control of his car, Suffolk County police said.

John Moretti, driving a 2006 BMW, was traveling east when the car crossed over the westbound lanes of the roadway and struck a fence and tree on Horseblock Road near Pommer Avenue at 10:05 a.m., police said.

Moretti, 30, of Oakwood Drive, was transported by Farmingville Rescue to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The roadway was closed after the crash but has since reopened.

Moretti’s vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Police say they are continuing to investigate.

Detectives ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
