Three people were injured in a crash Sunday morning when two SUVs collided on Broad Hollow Road at the North Service Road in Melville, officials said.

One of the SUVs rolled over repeatedly and left the driver trapped, the Melville Fire Department said in a news release.

Firemen used the “jaws of life” heavy-duty hydraulic tool to pry off the vehicle’s door and remove the driver, Melville Fire Department spokesman Steve Silverman said. That driver, who was not identified, was transported to the Nassau University Medical Center to be treated for head, neck and back injuries.

Two men in the other vehicle were taken to Huntington Hospital, where they were treated for head laceration and rib injuries, fire officials said.

A Suffolk County police spokeswoman said officials received a call about the accident at 7:37 a.m. and that the scene was cleared after about 20 minutes. No serious injuries were reported. Additional information about the accident was not available, the spokeswoman said.
