Cops reissue Silver Alert for missing LI teen

Suffolk County police have reissued a Silver Alert for a Lake Ronkonkoma teen who has been missing since September.

Emily Higgins was last seen at The Sequoia Charter School in Holtsville on Sept. 13 at about 11 a.m., police said.

Higgins, 17, was believed to be in Manhattan on Sept. 15 and could be in the Bronx or Staten Island, according to police. The NYPD has been notified.  

Higgins is described as standing 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing about 195 pounds. She has green eyes, brown hair and piercings in her nose and ears. She was last seen wearing black leggings, a blue T-shirt and white Nike sneakers, police said.

Police ask anyone with information about her location to contact Fifth Squad Detectives at 631-854-8552.

A Silver Alert is a program that allows law enforcement to share information with the media about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
