Suffolk County police are investigating the robbery of a gas station attendant Sunday morning in North Amityville, police said.

An unidentified man approached the attendant about 11:10 a.m. outside a Mega Gas station, 624 Broadway, and displayed a knife and stole money from the employee's pocket, police said. The man fled in a silver, four-door Scion XB, police said.

Police described the robber as between 30 and 40 years old, about 6 feet tall and heavyset. He was wearing all black clothing with multicolored sneakers, police said.

Detectives said anyone with information could call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477.
