Officials: Eatons Neck crash leaves hundreds without power

A motorist suffered minor injuries Wednesday night when the car she was driving in Eatons Neck struck a pole that fell onto the vehicle and caused power outages to hundreds of customers in the area, Suffolk County police said.

The 9:52 p.m. crash on Eatons Neck Road near North Creek Road snarled traffic for hours in both directions, and PSEG Long Island reported more than 400 customers without power in the area late Wednesday night.

Suffolk police said the victim, who was not identified, was not seriously injured despite the impact of the vehicle with the pole, which fell onto her vehicle.
