Pedestrian killed in Manorville collision, Suffolk police say

A man was struck by a car and killed as he attempted to cross Route 111 Thursday night in Manorville, Suffolk County police said.

Police said Seventh Squad detectives have not yet identified the man.

Police said the man was struck by a northbound 2016 Mazda just north of Chapman Boulevard at 8:53 p.m. and pronounced dead at the scene.

The 77-year-old driver and his female passenger were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead for treatment, police said.

The car was impounded for a safety check. No charges have been filed.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Seventh Squad detectives at 631-852-8752.
