Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Huntington Station, police say

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Thursday afternoon in Huntington Station, shutting down part of East Pulaski Road, Suffolk police said.

The accident happened about 1 p.m. on the westbound side, which was closed but since reopened, police said.

The victim was taken to Huntington Hospital, where officers were waiting for word of the seriousness of the injuries, police said.

Other details were not immediately available as police remained on the scene to gather evidence.
