Police: 1 hurt as vehicle hits Slurp in Port Jefferson

One person suffered minor injuries in a late-night crash that saw a vehicle overturn and strike a building Tuesday in Port Jefferson, Suffolk County police said.

Details of the crash were still emerging, but police said the crash occurred at about 11:10 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and West Broadway.

Police said that after it overturned the vehicle struck a support column in front of the store, a ramen noodle shop called Slurp. The Brookhaven Town building inspector responded to the scene to determine the safety of the structure.
