A Bay Shore man was arrested and charged with drunken driving, criminal contempt and operating without an interlock device after Suffolk County police stopped him for speeding on the Long Island Expressway early Friday in Dix Hills.
Police said Mohamed Khan, 42, had a court order stipulating he refrain from consuming alcohol -- and that he was already wanted on outstanding warrant for committing the same offense in January.
Suffolk Highway Patrol Officer Robert Scudellari initiated the traffic stop after he spotted Khan, driving a 2013 Kia, speeding between Exit 51 and Exit 52 on the eastbound LIE at about 1:50 a.m. Friday.
Scudellari then determined Khan was under the influence of alcohol, police said -- and that his license was revoked.
Khan was charged with DWI, operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device, second-degree criminal contempt for violating the court order and was issued seven traffic tickets.
He is scheduled for arraignment Friday in First District Court in Central Islip.
