A man was killed early Friday morning when the vehicle he was driving struck a guardrail on eastbound Sunrise Highway in North Lindenhurst, flipping the vehicle several times and ejecting him, Suffolk County police said.

The single-vehicle accident, involving a white Suzuki, occurred at North Fulton Avenue at about 3:30 a.m., police said.

Police said the eastbound roadway was closed between North Delaware Avenue and North Greene Avenue for investigation by Crime Scene Unit detectives. It is unclear how long the road will remain closed.

The identity of the driver, who was pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Police said the crash remains under investigation.
