Police investigate bullet fired into wall of Central Islip house

Suffolk County police are trying to determine who fired a bullet Sunday into an exterior wall of an Ash Street home in Central Islip.

A police spokeswoman said someone at the house reported the sound of gunshots in a 911 call at about 9:40 p.m.

When officers responded they found a hole caused by a single bullet, she said.

Police do not believe the house was targeted and there were no injuries.
