Police investigating Bay Shore shooting

A man walking along a street in Bay Shore late Thursday night was shot once in the back by another man who, along with two other assailants, fled the scene in a car, police said.

The victim, identified only as a man in his 20s, was taken to a local hospital with what Suffolk County police called "nonlife-threatening injuries."

The incident occurred on North Clinton Avenue, near Joseph Avenue, at about 10:50 p.m., police said. Police could not immediately provide additional details, citing the continuing investigation but said no arrests have been made.
