A West Islip man lost control of his 2010 Maserati on Udall Road near Higbie Lane late Monday, crashing into bagel and chicken takeout shops, Suffolk County police said.

Police said the driver, identified as Michael Bidetti, 40, was taken to nearby Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. He was not charged.

Police said Bidetti was headed south on Udall in West Islip when he lost control of the Maserati at 10:30 p.m., crashing into the side of Higbie Bagels, just south of Higbie Lane.

The Maserati then struck the adjoining store, Flavor Crisp Chicken, police said.

Both stores were damaged in the crash. The extent of the damage was not known.

Both stores were closed at the time of the crash. It was unclear when either would reopen.

Police said the car was impounded for a safety check.
