Police: Man shot in Wyandanch drive-by

A Wyandanch man was injured in a drive-by shooting in front of his home on Saturday morning, Suffolk County police said.

Raheem Brooks, 20, was parked in a 1992 Lexus on Jefferson Avenue when he was shot twice in the legs and twice in the buttocks by the driver of another car, police said.

A female acquaintance who was in the car with Brooks was grazed in the hand, either by a bullet or shrapnel, police said. She was treated and released.

Brooks was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip and is expected to survive.

Police have yet to make an arrest in the case.

The investigation is continuing, police said. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
