Police: Motorcyclist killed in Hamptons crash

A speeding motorcyclist died after colliding with a car in the Hamptons Thursday night, police said.

The 7:27 p.m. accident occurred at the intersection of County Road 39 and Greenfield Road, on the border of Tuckahoe and Shinnecock Hills, Southampton Town police said Friday morning.

Allan Alvarez, 21, of East Hampton, was riding his 2016 Suzuki motorcycle when he was involved in an accident with a 2015 Ford Fusion at the intersection, police said.

Detectives said the investigation, including witness accounts, determined Alvarez was “traveling at a high rate of speed” at the time of the accident.

The driver of the Fusion, Milos Djurasic, 22, of Southampton, was not injured in the crash and was not charged, police said.

Police said a third vehicle, a 2011 BMW driven by Laurie Gianelli, 52, of Smithtown, was struck by accident debris.

Responding officers found Alvarez non-responsive at the scene and “immediately began CPR,” police said.

He was pronounced dead at Southampton Hospital, police said.
