Police: Threat at Republic Airport proves unfounded

Republic Airport in East Farmingdale on Wednesday received a threat to its terminal that proved unfounded and operations were not interrupted, Suffolk police said.
After learning of the threat at about 12:20 p.m., the police said the building was searched and “nothing was found.”
The police statement added: “Airport operations continued throughout the entire incident.”
Earlier police had said there were precautionary evacuations.
