A Port Jefferson man was killed and another motorist sustained minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Hauppauge Thursday afternoon, police said.

Joseph Dunlop, 58, was taken from the accident scene by ambulance to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, where he was pronounced dead, Suffolk police said.

Harry Hanson, 26, of 22 Hagerman Ave., Medford, the driver of the other vehicle, was also treated at St. Catherine's for minor injuries, police said.

Hanson was driving a 2003 Dodge pickup west on Express Drive North at 12:40 p.m., police said, when he collided with a 2008 Toyota that Dunlop was driving north on Motor Parkway. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, police said.

Detectives asked that anyone with information about the accident contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
