Volunteers from five departments battled an early morning fire in Port Jefferson that also saw a hazmat team dispatched to the site — to secure a 100-pound propane tank, fire officials said.

The fire at the home on Village Woods Road was reported at 4:34 a.m. Suffolk County fire officials said it was under control at 5:37 a.m., and Suffolk police said all residents had escaped without injuries.

The scene is located near Roe Lane and East Broadway, police said. Firefighters from Port Jefferson, Setauket, Terryville, Coram and Mount Sinai all responded, as did an ambulance corps and the hazmat team.

Fire officials said the 100-pound propane tank was attached to the home and said the hazmat team was able to secure it.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
