Robert Moses Causeway reopens after crash, officials say

The southbound Robert Moses Causeway reopened Tuesday morning after an overturned Jeep closed all of the lanes in West Islip for about an hour, officials said.

All but the right lane reopened shortly before 11 a.m. after all lanes were shut about 9:40 a.m., according to the state Department of Transportation website, informny.com. Shortly after 11 a.m., the DOT said all lanes had reopened.

A State Police spokesman said one injury was reported but he did not have more details.

A call for the accident just south of Sunrise Highway came in at 9:24 a.m., he said.

Crews responded, closing all southbound lanes at Exit RM1.
