Two people died hours apart in separate motor vehicle crashes in North Lindenhurst and Centereach late Friday and early Saturday, Suffolk police said.

Samir Patel, 51, of Holtsville was pronounced dead early Saturday at the scene of a crash on Nicolls Road, north of Middle Country Road in Centereach. Karim Abouelfadl, 26, of Lindenhurst was pronounced dead at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow after a crash Friday evening on Wellwood Avenue near Robbins Street.

Abouelfadl was killed after the 2013 Honda Civic he was driving south crossed into northbound traffic and hit a car head-on about 7 p.m. in North Lindenhurst, Suffolk police said.

His car struck a 2013 Ford Fusion driven by Jennifer Ginexi, 23, of North Babylon, police said.

Ginexi was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

About 1:15 a.m. Saturday, Patel was driving a 2009 Ford van from the Ramada Inn, facing south on the right shoulder of the northbound lane of Nicolls Road.

He attempted to make a U-turn to go north when his van was struck by a 2004 Ford van being driven by taxi driver David Greene, 56, of Lake Grove, who was entering Nicolls Road northbound from Middle Country Road, police said.

Patel's passenger, Oswaldo Borja, 64, of Holtsville, who was also an employee of Ramada Inn, and Greene were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.
