A Babylon woman was killed early Tuesday after Suffolk County police said her car crossed over a double yellow line on Commack Road in Dix Hills and collided with a minivan head-on.

Police identified the victim as Cassandra Walter, 26. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver, identified by police as Alex Dario Oliva Rodriguez, 35, of Hempstead, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was treated and released.

Police said Rodriguez has been charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

The fatal crash occurred on Commack Road near Euclid Avenue at 7 a.m., and closed the road for several hours.

Police said Walter, driving a 2000 Saturn north on Commack Road, lost control of the car, crossed the center line and struck Rodriguez's 2000 Honda minivan going south.

Police ask anyone who might have information regarding the crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
