An 18-year-old Queens man was killed and two teenagers from Queens were critically injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-car accident on the Southern State Parkway in North Amityville, police said.

Aaron Jagroop, 18, of South Ozone Park, was driving a 2005 Toyota Sienna with three passengers eastbound at about 1:30 p.m., west of Exit 35, "when it made contact with a 2014 Toyota Camry traveling in the center lane and lost control," State Police said in a news release. "The Sienna then exited the roadway onto the right shoulder and struck a tree."

Jagroop was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center where he died of his injuries, police said. A 16-year-old South Ozone Park girl was taken to Good Samaritan and a 15-year-old Jamaica boy was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital. Both were in critical condition as of late Wednesday, police said.

A third passenger, a 19-year-old South Ozone Park man,  was taken to Good Samaritan with nonlife threatening injuries, police said, adding that eastbound traffic was closed at Exit 35 into Wednesday evening during their investigation.

The Camry driver, who stopped on the right shoulder, was not hurt, police said.

State Police urges anyone who may have witnessed the accident to confidentially call State Police Troop L at 631-756-3300.
