A baby ball python stolen from a reptile store in West Islip has been returned, the store said Wednesday.

Repxotica Rare Reptiles said in a Facebook post Wednesday afternoon that the snake had been returned by “an anonymous third party.”

The snake had been taken from the store Friday night when the store was short-staffed, owner Martina Scheben said earlier this week.

Scheben noticed the snake was missing on Monday. Surveillance footage showed a man in a red T-shirt putting the snake in his jacket pocket.

The snake was worth about $400, Scheben said.
