Suffolk County police Homicide Squad detectives are conducting a death investigation at a house in Fort Salonga, a spokeswoman for the department confirmed Wednesday night.

Police received the call at 8:24 p.m., she said.

Authorities have not released any additional information.

A police line was set up midway down the block late Wednesday. An officer at the scene said police were interviewing witnesses.

A half dozen police vehicles, including one crime scene van, were still at the house on Glenview Avenue past 10 p.m.

A neighbor said a mother, father and two high school-age boys are renting the home.

Several people could be seen standing outside the house and talking to the authorities. The couple’s two sons could be seen inside a police vehicle.

Jeannine Kennedy, who has lived on the block for 12 years, said the mother does not work outside the home and that the father is a carpenter.

“They were always very friendly,” Kennedy said of the couple. “Both of them.”

She said the pair largely kept to themselves and that their sons are “the sweetest.”
